Leave 'Em Alone

Another movie from my pre-kid years is being remade and about to come out.

Yes I am talking about…

The original was made in 1987 starring Peter Weller (he's now on Sons of Anarchy) and Nancy Allen (loved her with John Travolta in Blowout…not sure what she's up to these days).

One of my husbands favorites was …

Patrick Swayze (his brother was on Millionaire Matchmaker!!), Charlie Sheen (before he became a douche), C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson, Jennifer Grey, hell it even had Powers Boothe.

Why?!

Why mess with perfection?

I want to see them try to remake this one…

Purple Rain

    1. They are playing MY music in elevators, remaking MY movies, and the "new" fashion styles all resemble something I used to wear...pretty soon I'll be using walker and talking about my meds.

    1. I LOVED Purple Rain! I can not even imagine how they would redo it...somehow, someone will give it a go and just ruin it.

  3. AH BB - the 80s are calling and they want us to keep our movies!!!! It is a tragedy of epic proportions to remake Robocop! What's next? Ghostbusters?

    1. Movies are truly different through the eyes of a sixteen to twenty year old.

  5. Did not see Robocop the first time, but am looking forward to the remake. I suppose that French twosome on Get Lucky are as close as I've gotten. Will see Prince in anything.

  6. All the movie talk makes me feel like I live on another planet, i think in the era of these movies I was home with itty bitty babies and watching Thirty Something and Dynasty!
Glad you are better. Wanted to stop in and say hi even if I am of no use to the movie discussion. I do agree that some classics do not need improving. No I do not need chocolate chips in my pancakes, butter and maple syrup are fine. My pizza doesn't need to be white or Hawaiian.

    1. What?! No bacon in your chocolate chip cookies? I loved Dynasty...so much better than Dallas I thought.

  7. I swear Hollywood has no new ideas. The Red Dawn remake was terrible.

I was not supposed to see RoboCop, but watched it on the sly at my neighbor's house when they got a video of it. It gave me nightmares. So, not a fan of the original. :)

    1. We were SO disappointed with the Red Dawn remake. The original was really my hubs favorite movie growing up. I think Hollywood is also just greedy. They no the remakes will at least get an initial draw opening week end.
