NYC - This is the Life

Saturday continues after several hours shopping...

Although Emily and I were fairly successful, Hunter was not.  There he sat in the little office chair, wedged between the bed and the wall, in our shoebox of a room watching football.  He has vowed never to do the art scene in New York.  Remember this is a guy who can talk to a wall.  Mr. H didn't make a single friend...he always makes a friend wherever he goes.  Bless his heart.

OFF TO THE BAR!

Em decided to exercise...bitch.  I just wanted to put my feet up for a few minutes.  Twenty minutes later, phone rings.  They have deep fried Oreos at the bar!!!!

OMG!!!!

A plate full of fried Oreos with ice cream and a side of milk.  Guess who's ass was beside Hunter's? Yep, Emily beat me there.  They were so good we ordered another platter.

Shit, shower, shave and we are off to dinner and a show.

The Hershey's store is sooo disappointing but M&M store rocks.  CBGBs was putting on some sort of festival which ended with My Morning Jacket performing at the end.

Trattoria Trecolori, 47th Street, Midtown West
We ate pasta at Trattoria Trecolori.  Have eaten here twice before.  Not bad and not very expensive.

Off to the show!  Yes, that is us.  My photographer was slacking on this one.

Our view from the balcony and Hunter's last memory until intermission.  Music starts and he nods off every time!  The Book of Mormon was hilarious and Em and I loved it...Hunter enjoyed the second half.  There was a bellybutton in every seat.  I would highly recommend.  Warning...it is not politically correct in any way, shape or form.  If you are easily offended go at your own risk.

Great first full day.  Tomorrow brings bagels, wine, bourbon, and a Mormon (I know!).

  1. Deep fried oreos? I've never heard of them, there is always talk here of deep fried Mars Bars but I have never seen one of this legendary concoctions either.

    1. Tabs, my food-blogging admin assistant ate a deep fried Mars bar in Edinburgh only last month, so they do exist!

    2. We discovered them a few years ago. They aero tags notorious as the deep fried Twinkie but they are one of the few carny foods I'll put in my mouth.

  2. Deep fried Oreos sound utterly terrifying, but divine in equal measures.

    1. I'm sure they went straight to my thighs. Book of Mormon is really good. It is by the guys who do South Park so it could be really offensive...not a problem for me.

  3. Oh my god that is too funny! Wasn't there a report that Oreos are as addictive as cocaine? Probably an urban myth, but I think I will spread it! What fun! I think I may have a hunter crush....

    1. The only thing I can sit down and eat awhile bag of our Fig Newtons. I don't even tell family I bought them...they are my crack. Hunter, also known as Popsicle to Em, is quite a catch. I have told you he makes me breakfast every morning?!

    2. I'm pretty smitten with my guy, but I must admit I have a Hunter and Barry crush. My bloggy friends' husbands are dreamy.

  4. BB, I have so much respect for you after seeing that plate of Oreos. I love a girl that can eat! Did you know that calories consumed while on vacation don't count?

    1. I have learned to diet a week before and after I go on vacation. I eat whatever my heart desires, whatever is placed before me, whatever is free, whatever everybody else has...I have no shame on vacay. Not the type that has two gulps of air for breakfast.
