On a Daily Basis

Although it is fun to ooh and aah over fashion magazines, catalogs, Pinterest, Polyvore, blogs, most ensembles I see and love simply do not fit in my life.

I do follow Cynthia 355 on Polyvore.  She does, for the most part, simple everyday outfits with a lot of flats...give me an hallelujah.

A Bigger Closet finally has made her point with me...Shop Your Closet!  And so I have.  This is what I have come up with in reference to Cynthia's...

Everyday Fall

Guess what?  I own everything but the middle J Crew scarf.  The jean jacket I have had for years and hardly ever wear.  The Frye mules, ditto (they are heavy for my itty bitty legs but I'm trying them again).  And purses, just too damn lazy to keep switching them out.  I know, simple but so me.

  1. I'm liking her/your work. I wear jeans and flats almost every single day - it's the uniform I never get tired of.

    1. Boy did you call it with Miranda and Orlando. I immediately thought of you when I heard they were divorcing.

    1. Most of the time I'm in yoga/fat pants, slippers, and my green thing...I need to do a post on my green thing one day. It's pure joy. Em has one too.

  3. I'm in wellies and sweats just now, this is fancy for every day to me!
The sink just flooded out the kitchen - must buy wetsuit.

    1. Damn chick...we need to get you to 2014 and pronto. I love my sweat pants but somehow they have shrunk length wise and I look pretty nerdy in them.

  4. Love those mules. My sister and I are currently obsessed with Frye's 8 inch harness boots, which we have dubbed Ass Kickin' Boots. I don't think I'm a boots person though. But clogs...I could do clogs. Ass Kickin' Clogs.

    1. I wore the clogs for many years and then somehow they got relegated to the back of the closet the last two years. I think I was trying skinny pants and they just don't fit that look. I am not a boot person...my feet get claustrophobic. I want shoes I can slip in and out of. We call them shit kickin boots.

I couldn't live without my heels though:)

    1. Oh I still get enthralled with heels but day to day it's flip flops in spring/summer and a flat shoe (something I can wear socks with for my cold tootsies) for fall/winter.

  6. I have a lot of bags but tend to use the same one for a long time until I switch to another, too much work to change bags ;) This is how I usually dress when on my own as well, though I do like a little bit of heel at times ... comfy ones, not the ones that make you walk gingerly.

    1. I actually do not wear certain outfits cuz I'm not ready to change my bag to match. I periodically like a high heel but only on special occasions not day to day.

  7. I have been wearing flats exclusively for the last 6 months. I love heels and wedges, but they feel so dressy to sit at my desk and write!
I am loving all these outfits! Who said you can't look sophisticated in casual clothes? And yes, changing bags is a pain in the a$$. I bought a bag I've been dreaming about for 2 years for my birthday a few months ago, and haven't used it because I can't be bothered to change my things into it. Ridiculous.

    1. I also work from home so it takes a lot just to get me out of my yoga pants. Helps me maintain my weight tho if I wear pants that button.

  8. I really appreciate your style, very casual and laid back. I myself must always fuss a bit more with an ironed blouse and matching trinkets. I am definitely with you on flats and not being willing to change pocketbooks! That's where I draw the line .

    1. I hate ironing!:) But I do love a crisp, ironed shirt. I bought a little steamer a while back and use that a lot.

  9. Great ideas! I always wear flats for walking and day-to-day stuff - well not totally flat, but no higher than 1.5". In fact, most days I wear runners to and from work, and for my excursions to distant parts of campus for meetings and teaching.
I can't be arsed to change bags either very often - too much of a faff!

    1. So glad i am not the only lazy chicklet. I am finding just a bit of height in shoes is actually more comfortable than say ballerinas.
