First and foremost, if you start this you HAVE to finish this post!
I did this all for you...way too much effort.
The DKNY Cozy
Does this not look amazing?! Well, I was smitten. Thought it would be the perfect travel piece. Damn, one top 12 different ways. I would be so chic if I just had one of these things.
Daughter and I went to Charlotte this summer. I had one goal and that was to find this miracle, try it on, and then stalk it on Ebay. I must be honest, much to Emily's horror, I was pronouncing the name phonetically...DICKENEE. For those other idiots out there, you just say the individual letters...DEE-KAY-IN-WHY. Needless to say I got some odd looks from the saleswomen but they knew what I was talking about. Unfortunately no luck. So I stalked it on Ebay anyway because I HAD TO HAVE THIS. Grey, size M/L
Here we go...
I am 5'6
Look at my butt.
Arm length perfect.
Comes in P/S or M/L. I needed more medium than large.
Umm?
Still stumpy with heels.
This is fine.
I can do this too.
WTF
I could not get this to look right.
Swinging my balls.
Meh.
Oh this is attractive. My hair!
Sort of chic. Maybe?
Okay.
Okay, my ass and hair now look bad. Thanks Cozy.
I actually kinda like this.
Never mind.
Good God, I did not spend $100 for a grey scarf. Looks the best.
Again front is fine.
I almost posted a picture of me giving it the finger. Sigh. The looks I liked all have the huge knot in the back...which I hate. Each look took a lot of fussing. It is 50% silk, 45% cotton, and 5% cashmere. Feels great but ...UGH! New house sweater!

You are hilarious! Use it as a wrap, or a blanket while watching TV on a chilly night.
ReplyDeleteSome of the looks were cute from the front.
I can not believe how desperately I wanted this...kinda sad really.
DeleteOh no! Some of those looked really good, but I can appreciate what a pain in the ass it was to style this. It seemed like a good idea, though! Check this one out from Nordstrom: Bobeau Asymmetrical Fleece Wrap Cardigan. I have it and like it so much I ordered a second one in another color (I sized up because the sleeves are snug). No fuss, one button, done. It's warmer than it looks.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Do you realize the Bobeau is now $40? I will be headed to NY next weekend and will look for it in store. Thanks.
DeleteYou are so funny! Well it is a good theory and the fabric sounds really nice. I never do well with things I have to fuss with even though I do like cozy things.
ReplyDeleteI do like the light gray with your blonde hair!
The color was great, the material was great. Where did I go wrong?!
DeleteHilarious! The only look I'd have managed would have been the scarf! But some of these look great from the front.
ReplyDeleteThe scarf looked the best and even then the arms kept falling off my neck. Geez.
DeleteI can totally understand your frustratiom BB. A SA once talked me into buying something very simliar and i never wore it once, because i hate fussing with clothes and i hated the knot.
ReplyDeleteJust try to sell it on ebay:)
You have the funniest way to tell a story,if i would have wrote that,it wouldnt sound so funny!
A bit intimidated by Ebay. Have never sold anything and just recently started hoarding, I mean purchasing stuff :)
DeleteBB, you really really made me laugh. I never understand how to work these convertible pieces, so you're a few steps ahead of me. Have you tried Googling tips and tricks?
ReplyDeleteI went through every DKNY tutorial, in slow motion too. i mean i really spent a lot of time and effort on this piece of ...clothing. i just need a stylist to help me with the back. Hunter doesn't count.
DeleteOk, BB, break out the Jack Daniels. I'm coming over! :-)
DeleteOh darling i can do better than Gentleman Jack!
DeleteYeah Gentleman Jack - not impressed, everyone goes on about it but it's too smooth.
DeleteI "won" a similar style cardigan from a local boutique - I never could make it work and I gave it away!
ReplyDeleteNice in theory - in execution - sigh
you are too funny!!!
Well at least you didn't pay good money. we'll see how long it lasts in the closet.
DeleteJust saw this, hilarious, I like the off the shoulder look best.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard work though that cardi - a total diva.
