What a Day

Well?  How was it?  Everybody make out well?

It is a bit nippy but beautiful.

Papa Mike says good morning in his grandpa sweater.

Tyler is SO excited…to get back to bed.

Em wants to know where the rest of the presents are.

Grammy actually showered.  Can you believe?  And is ready to bake with her new presents.

Table is set for ten.

Later in the day, I promise…Hunter is getting ready for our guests.  Gotta get that first drink in before they arrive.  He did say,"Tell the ladies hello."

I did very well…three pair of earrings from the kids, a cream colored cashmere scarf, the bisque little quilted purse from J Crew (going to be perfect in the spring…on sale), six months of cupcakes for the month from my folks (they like me fat and happy), gift card for William Sonoma (more peppermint bark maybe?), peppermint bark (shhh), ombre scarf and gift card from my brother inlaw and his wife, something from my sister (still not here yet), and a beautiful solitary diamond pendant necklace from my lover.  Overall I would rate it as a fantastic haul.

  3. Christmas was so much fun. My two grandchildren are the only ones in both families so far. So they are absolutely the biggest hits. My chanddaughter was singing and dancing with the big cousins to Beyoncé and the little guy is ust learning to walk! Everyone was eating them up. I know that I have mentioned that the families are big so years ago we stopped most of the gift exchanging. Only the below 21 get a secret Santa. It used to be overwhelming. The other kids are old enough to get it that we are really ther to be together and PARTY!
From my own family I received new yoga wear since I have recently started to try to do something that resembles exercise. I also got some Patience Brewster ornaments. If you like whimsical things check out her stuff. Another daughter gave me a new cover for my birthday IPad Air. My husband bought me a Louis Vuitton tote for all my city shopping, Christmas Day my husband was up to his eyeballs with all the fancy dinners we'd been to in the last month so lasagna and meatballs and salad was it. Now we are just relaxing as I steadily work on my mission to finish every darn last Christmas cookie before the weekend is out!
Your gifts sound great. The cupcake of the month club spells DANGER to me though. Enjoy!

    1. I do miss Christmas with the little ones…just a bit more magical with kids. Sounds like you did have a lot of fun and actually made out pretty good yourself. We are quickly plowing through all the junk food but in the end some it will just be tossed…my body is ready for some healthy eating or I may need new yoga clothes because even they are becoming a uncomfortable. :)

  4. looks like you had a great day!

I did well as well - books, 2 pairs of earrings, a white and warren pink cashmere cardigan, a downton abbey teapot. Just the right amount of things actually - less than in previous years, but I liked that actually (and had requested that) Since then have just been reading, reading, reading...

    1. I read your post and am so glad you had a wonderful Christmas. Today is the last day of my slugathon. It is time to get busy…I've already got my next project planning. But first, I need to take down the decorations.

  5. I'm new to your blog and have to say it is really entertaining. I think I first saw your posts on Tabitha's blog, Bourbon and Pearls. All this time I thought your avatar was a blue bra!!! But it's the feet of a blue booby birdie! LOL. The joke is on me, that's for sure! :-)

Sounds as if you had a very nice Christmas, indeed!

    1. Thanks for taking the time and effort to say nice things. I'll take them everyday. Did not realize some "issues" I would have when setting up my avatar and name…I had recently come back from the Galapagos Islands and loved those damn birds. Let's just say lots of perverts looking for "boobs up close" etc are probably VERY disappointed.

    2. That's so funny ... I'm squinting and I can kinda "see" the blue bra!

  6. Lovely Christmas presents, you are well loved! Your family is adorable. MrBP always gets a drink in before the guests arrive too. I did get the coat I wanted for Christmas from Brora and I've been wearing it non-stop. And the flowers for a year returned, yay!
    Happy Sunday Darling!

    1. Will do! He actually got a Master's Collection Woodford Reserve Straight Malt Whiskey he is trying to get through(90.4 proof). Not a big fan but he keeps trying :) It is always amazing how much booze he gets from vendors and subs at Christmas. We also got Margarita Moonshine…NASTY!

  8. The kids look like mine-- allergic to morning! So cute Hunter knows about the ladies.

I had a pinky swear with MLane for no gifts this year for each other. I have a chair I need to do over and currently have no decorator friends to get me fabric at less than 100% markup so that will be my present.

I have been on a cleaning strike all week so tomorrow that ends. The tree will stay up til next weekend as my town will pick it up and shred it to mulch. I hate to lose my tree, I'm one of those hanger-ons.

    1. I know you've been jewelry depleted, so it's so exciting you have a new gem! Does Hunter know what you like?Or do you have input? I would not trust MLane to do this! Good for him.

    2. I wake up ready to go. Kids…not so much. I have to wait until Cricket dies before I even think about redoing upholstery. My decorations are down. Yeah! Hunter thinks the bigger the better while I am very simple minimal. He went with Emily…had an appointment. I just knew he got me something but she convinced me it was not jewelry but something "really cool." It is a beautiful piece that I have been missing. Have a good one.
