J Crew Majesty Pea Coat

Majesty peacoat

I have been stalking this baby for awhile.  J Crew has made it nearly impossible with all their discounts and sales to resist.  Finally when they had the outerwear sale, after the select things on sale, after the fall sale...on and on...I figured some one was telling me something so I bit the bullet.

This is more the true color than the website.  Which I looovvveee even more.  Was a bit afraid it would be lighter and more pastel.  It is of substantial weight and thus I will now be stalking it in my closet until winter.  On me:

This is a size 10.  A sweater fits comfortably.  A blazer would not.  I am 5'6.  The sleeves maybe a bit too long but still love it.  The fact that I can wear a sweater or shirt NOT tucked in and it will NOT be sneaking passed the hem I am delighted with.  The buttons...well...could be better.  However they are sewn on really well:

The smaller button is on the back of the gold buttons.  Very good job J Crew.  I can not get over how excited I am to wear this baby.  Must be love!

    1. I try to get my daughter one nice gift for her birthday (she got the frye paige boots) and Christmas. She has requested a navy pea coat this year. Am hoping to get it on sale (or discount) but love it enough to pay full price. We'll be mismatched twinkies but that's okay.

  2. Thanks for the review!
Would you say it is TTS?
How did you determine your size?
    I am a 0 in perfect shirts,so maybe get a 2 in the coat?
    TIA

    1. I would get whatever size J Crew school boy blazer you normally wear. I always am a size 10 in blazers and coats ( I am 38" in bust which is 1/2" larger than the size 10 but 1" smaller than the 12). My daughter is 35" bust (right in the middle of 4 and 6) and wears the size 6. Maybe too much info but I think the size chart is pretty spot on for the coats.

  3. Thanks for the info and pics! Is the color more of a true green then? I also thought the J.Crew pic looked more pastel (and not as easy to pair with other clothes); definitely like the way it looks here more.

    1. The close up picture of the tag shows the true color of this coat. It is a true crayon green.
