Let's Go Casual: J Crew and Some Shorts

Let's just jump right in to the shorts...get this sh*t over with.
Aventura Delaney Organic Cotton Shorts, Size 10, Olive here
Wearing with J Crew Vintage Vee Neck, Size M, Peach Sorbet here

I know.  These shorts are pricey but I am trying anything.

You can roll these babies all the way up to your crotch without a lot of bulk.  These are very light weight.  They do need ironing after washing - shorts?  really?
Side shot.  I usually size up for my thighs and then have to belt the waist.  These actually fit well in the waist also.
Rise.  Look Ma, no muffin top.

Back View...sorry for the blur.

I actually like these.  The Olive can pass for a brown or even a black.  They should go with any and all the tees that I own.

Sanctuary Peace Shorts, size 30, Bone China here

The rise is a bit higher..starting to have a bit of a muffin.  These stretch a bunch over the course of a day.  Again I bought for the thighs and the waist is a bit big and gets bigger.  They come with a belt.

Rolled up back view.  I am wearing black panties and they do not show at all.

Details:
Very well made - better be for that price.  Not sure what to tell you on sizing.  They really do stretch out in the waist and butt area quite quickly.  Also got in Blue:

J Crew Men's Sunwashed Fleece, size M, Mountain White here

I wanted something cozy and comfy and plain.  The small worked well if I was going for a fitted look.  I wanted oversized.
The collar has a button so no choking or tugging forward.
The hood covers the ol noggin.

2750 Superga® classic sneakers size 9, white here

They are white.  That won't last.  You can buy these from Zappos also.  There is an arch support built in that may cause problems for some wearers.  I find them extremely comfortable.  I live in Rainbow Flip Flops here during the summer.  I have wanted a simple white sneaker for awhile and these fit the bill just fine.  Now I just need a bathing suit.

The Garnet Hill one I tried on earlier here was not THAT bad.  It had zero support for the tatats.  If you are less endowed or just plain perky  I think it is a lovely suit.

Tale of Two Dresses: Old Navy and Banana Republic

Old Navy Ruffled Jersey Tie-Yoke Dress, size M, Imperial Jade here

On the model:

on me:

I bought on a whim when shopping with my daughter.  I do not purchase from Old Navy for myself.  Daughter swears by the Diva Jeans.  I have been trying to find alternatives for shorts for quite some time.  This was cheap, now $25 with another 15% off.  First, I would not call this jersey.  It is 100% rayon, hand wash, dry with like colors.  It's cute and easy.  I also think it runs a bit big.  Anything with buttons I usually wear a large.  Medium fit good with no gaping.

No bra showing.
I am taking this on my cruise.  I figure I can troll the shopping ports as is, and then throw a sweater on for dinner.

Next. Banana Republic Belted Ponte Sheath, Size 10, Royal Purple here

On Model:
 on me:

I am 5'6 and this hit me right below my knees.  Definitely would hem a good 1 1/2" to 2".
Pockets
Really cheap belt
Wait a minute...what the hell is that thing?
Closer inspection.  Even the camera didn't want to focus on my armpit boob.
Damn it! They are multiplying.  Sigh.
Back view for all those still interested, I'm not.  Exposed silver zipper.  I would say this fit TTS. The material is great.  Thick and stretchy.  The skirt was fuller than I expected...didn't like that.  You can zip this puppy up all by yourself.  Obviously this did not work for me.  Not sure when my girls decided to have boobs of their own.  We need to have a talk!

Anthro Reviews: Magnetic Field Necklace, Parknit Top, and Holding Horses Denim Pencil Skirt

I am such a sucker for free shipping promos from Anthro.  I am an easy target.

Magnetic Field Necklace here

It is not available at this time but it does seem to pop back quite a bit.  I have wanted it for several months and was waiting for it to pop back.  It has three levels of necklaces with quite a bit of adjustment for you to decide long or short.

Very pretty.  My only complaint is how they shipped it to me.  It came all by itself, wrapped in tissue and placed in a bag, no box.  When I unwrapped it, there were tiny shards from chipped crystals and one of the chains was disconnected - easy to fix.  All jewelry should be shipped in a box of some sort.

Parknit Top here, M Ivory

The details:

This is the collar and the gray is a thick jersey, or really thin sweatshirt.  The hem is unfinished at neck, arms, and along the bottom:
Bottom Back:
I do not think this will be an issue because of the materials - 65% Viscose, 32% Cotton, 3% Spandex.  The front, sweater part, is 100% Cotton.  If you like clean lines you may have to iron these hems after washing.  I am going for relaxed sluggo wear so this will not be an issue.
The knitting has some looseness to it but you do not need a cami underneath.
I am wearing a black and white container for the girls and it was not noticeable.
The back is a bit longer than front, and no I am not pregnant.  I think it fit tts but if you want more fitted, why?, size down.  Evil kitty is lurking in the back.  I'm gonna keep!

Holding Horses Denim Pencil Skirt here, 29 Jeep Red

How can you screw up a denim skirt?  Let me count the ways...
Not too bad.
I suddenly have the squarest, flattest ass in the world.
Sigh..the striped shirt ain't helping
Did they forget a button?  Nope...details!
Ooooh, it's on the pockets too.
Hmmm.

There's my white little pooch, rise isn't bad.  If you look closely, or maybe you don't have to, the zipper doesn't lay flat, nor the pockets...at all.
It's really stretchy.  I'd like to say I got the right size but I'm just not sure.  The color is great but everything else is just wrong on me.  But then I looked at the product shot on line a little closer and it really was not flattering on the model either, especially from behind.  I should know by now that when they take a front pick and the model has her hands in the pockets...on every shot..those pockets will not be laying right when I go to actually use my hands.  This is going back.  I thought it was not well made.

Now I will sit back and wait for the next promo because I have a few things on my wishlist.
This is cute:

Lamai Embroidered Tee

Not sure why I am attracted to grey sleeves these days.  I am trying to work on my casual wear a bit.  Still in search of white jeans.
