Let's Play Catch

Okay, time to play catch up with all the fantastic things happening in my glorious life...

************************

First the Road Kill
or
Shit at and missed, shot at and hit
or
my face

Awhile back I had that photo light burn stuff done to my face.  The purpose was to get rid of suspicious spots (AK's) that could or could not evolve into something a bit scarier.
Had it done on a Friday.  Saturday, woke up, fiddledicked around, Hunter got up, took one look at me..."Whoa".  Not a "whoa baby you look smoking" but a "whoa, what the hell happened to you."  My entire face was beet red except for my eyes.  It felt like a really, really, really bad sunburn.  I ended up taking some Aleve for the pain.

Day After
Now that's a face only a mother could love.

Up close and personal with my CRAZY eyebrow.  I hate it so.

2nd Day

The redness is gone.  Just left with the spots and a few tender places.

What I used to clean, moisturize, and protect

My left ear probably hurt the worst of all places

Day 3

Not too bad.

I go back to the dermatologist this Friday to find out what she thinks.  Hoping for a one time shot and not having to do a follow up procedure.

The "almost" perfect house coat dress

It was gorgeous but waaaay too big and they are now sold out of the smaller size.  Sigh.

Emily came to visit and she brought friends...

Anna, Emily, and Danielle

It was quite fun getting to know them.  They were very good sports putting up with us and all of Emily's extended family.

We will be traveling to exotic Columbus, Ohio for the week end of May 17th.  Em's Ultimate Frisbee team has made it all the way to Nationals.  Yeah!  Last year it was in Wisconsin so I feel blessed.

And not to leave any one out...

Tyler is coming home this Sunday and will be with us for ten days before he returns to Auburn for summer school.

And now for the drama...

I went to take a bath the other night.  A nice bubble bath.  Had my wine, had the bubbles.  Ack!  I forgot my two allotted dove mini chocolate joy of my life treats.  Out of the bath, get the chocolates, step into the bath, foot slips, knee bangs into tile side, loose one chocolate to the bubbles.  Hurts like a mother.  Fetch the chocolate out of the bath.  Sulk, sip wine, eat good dove chocolate...F%^k it!  Unwrap bubbly bath chocolate, pop it in my mouth.  It was fine.

Joy!

  1. Careful girl! We aren't spring chickens anymore!

Will be curious what your dermo thinks? My skin is so sensitive that it flares likes crazy, so would never be me except under extreme duress! Crossing fingers that all is well!

    1. Oh meant to mention I almost ordered the same dress and likely the same size. Good lord - that is so pretty, but huge!

    2. This just targets "the" spots. I have pretty sensitive skin also but a strong tolerance for pain.

  2. You are so funny! Is that really a housedress? I always love the look of her things and wonder about the fit. I have the honour of having the double edged sword of wrinkles plus pimples and that is my dermo cross to bear, My husband is down the dermos all the time now...with three teens they know us by name. Your kids are very cute.

  4. I like the look of Emerson Fry and the fabulous boxes etc but those clothes don't fit me properly, my butt is too big.
Speaking of big bottoms I just had a net-a delivery of some anniversary lingerie, we're 14 years tomorrow. April wedding dates: we have this in common, and of course the big personality husbands, we've got that in common too.
Be careful in that bath Dollface! Though I have to admire how sensible you are: bubbles, chocs, wine, well done.
    Gorgeous beautiful kids!

  5. I tried the emerson dress too and sent it right back. Too big and those pockets were a disaster. So sad, because it had so much potential.
    Careful with you pretty face!

    1. Not sure if it would even work for me in a smaller size. Yes, it had potential. My face looks pretty good. A bit of scarring but should fade.

  6. Oh, I can't wear EF, at best the stuff only looks expensive and most of the time not even that.

I'm getting sun damage blasted by some kind of IPL, not much fun. Haven't achieved "dazzling" yet.

    1. That's what I did...forgot the name of it. Thought of you every time I took my picture because you asked when I initially said I had it done. Of course I thought "damn Fred this is for you even though I look like shit." I'm just glad I got rid of the scaly ones. I'll let you know what the doc says.

  7. So happy to see you recovered from the "burn". I need to get things blasted, burned or frozen off my face and body regularly. Various types of pre cancerous carcinomas, but good to get them early. I lost a sizable chunk of my leg to Melanoma several years ago and the scar is hideous. Spent a bloody fortune on IPL's which reduce some of the sun damage...but damn...why didn't I use better sunscreen!
I've broken the budget and bought a Tria, home laser...we'll see if it helps.

    1. I have found regular facial peels suit me the best. I once had to put this cream on for three weeks until my skin looked like it was rotting off...it was awful. Am hoping my daughter is learning from all my mistakes.

  8. Oh the ear looks really sore, I bet it was annoying when you were trying o sleep at night.
Yes, that dress looks as if you're on a spa trip, shame you can't get a smaller size.

I tried the home laser about 18 months and have a dent in my face from it, as my mum said ' that will teach you" - she's so understanding!

    1. Yep the ear hurt bad. Almost like I was having an allergic reaction or something. All fine now or at least until the next round of age spots shows up.

  9. Hope all goes well at the derm. I think you look great! Bubble bath, chocolate and wine - well deserved, I'd say! (Glad you didn't break anything with the slip in the tub.)

    1. I know...I could have broken my wine glass. That would have been awful ;)

  10. I'd have rescued the chocolate too. I've had yag lasering for sunspots. Hurt like a mother. Hopefully you only need one round!

  11. Hope you have a good follow-up appointment. That seems like it was painful. Sorry about your sore knee, glad chocolate survived the bath! lol Have fun with the kids!

    1. Thank you. If i do have a follow up I won't do until late fall. Hopefully I am good for several years.

  12. The final results look beautiful. I hope it's good news from the derm. Be careful as many of them are laser happy. Check out the arrow prints dress. Very house coat/house dress.

    1. My derm is actually a good friend and knows my aversion to anything unnecessary.

  13. You look positively peachy in that last photo! I can't do anything like that, no pain for beauty here. Did you have actinics that needed to come off?

Those children of yours are so good-lookin'! Have fun with them. Chocolate AND wine in the bath-- you know how to live!!

    1. Yes, I had some scabies that need removal and she thought my face would react well. What I really need done is my hands and forearms but insurance won't cover so I used a cream for three weeks. Worked well but tedious process.

  14. Yikes. This is why I don't ever want to go to the dermatologist. It looks so painful. Glad you survived the process. You deserve a whole bag of chocolates after this!
