Trial Run...Dress Up!

L'Amour du Vin

L'Amour du Vin by htharri featuring Christian Dior

Wanted to make sure my Spanx still fit and the dress hadn't changed lengths on me again.

Will need to do more than clip my hair.  Shoulders back, stomach in, chins up!  I kind of look dainty and proper, don't I?

Ended up getting these because the others were on back order.  Love!  20% off.

Added this too:

Oops hard to see...it's a ring.

Look!  My girls wanted in the picture.  Ha.

Let's hope all goes well with the hair.  Why did Emily have to leave me...she's my updo girl.

  1. You look stunning! lol at the girls in the compact. Love the bright pinks for nails and lips and that dress is just perfect for your figure, looking good everywhere, hips, butt and obviously bustline.
I'm terrible at the updo, I use those JCrew tortoise clip things, it's the best I can do. So I don't have any tips except to get Emily home for the weekend.
I hope you have a blast and good to see you back to partying. You are my role model, I gotta start having more fun.

    1. Thanks baby. I do like a good party but honestly most nights I'm in my Jammie's by 7:00. Not sure why Em decided to go out and have a life of her own.

  2. You look great! I love the dress, accessories, hair and make-up! My straight, fine hair is the worst for an up-do but I sometimes try but then I need 1,000 bobby pins and a gallon of hairspray....
    Have fun!

    1. The key is to still have movement in the hair. Thinking about a partial updo. I'll have to scour YouTube for some tutorials.

    1. You are in the process of regenerating. Give yourself some time and you will be off and running...after that grand kid no doubt.

  4. Whoa, here's looking at you, kid! Love the dress and accessories; call it a "messy up-do" and you'll be fine. I have to have those JC tortoise shell-like clips , too. My hair is really long; I'd love to do a French twist, but would need more arms. You're lucky Emily can do this when she's around.

  9. **wolf whistle** cartoon eyes bug & that whole thing

I love it!! You look phenomenal. There has to be a hair product these days besides Aquanet that will get your hair where you want it. I would try the head shake upside down-ish, spray hair spray, let it it halfway dry, then shape it. Of course youtube is probably better than my instructions. lol Have fun!

    1. The issue is getting this dress on. It has some inner lining that no matter what the first time I never get my arms in right. So, got to put on dress then style hair. Was nice with Em...braid, twist, pin, done.

  10. Oh baby, you luscious thing you!

I can't get my hair to stay up for more than 10 minutes so I'm no help at all. But I hear a lot of teasing and spraying and booby pins help. ;)

    1. We just may end up with a messy updo. I do like "the small things" blog. She has great tutorials and her hair is about my length. Looking forward to Hunters response with the great reveal.

  14. Wow! super hot! I love the dress and jewellery. You look incredibly elegant!
I suggest a sock bun (my new obsession). Basically, you get a sock or stocking, cut the toes off and roll it into a sort of doughnut shape. Secure your hair in a pony tail (high or lower depending on your taste). Next, put the sock thing over the pony tail, then kind of arrange all the hair outwards and over the sock. Finally, secure with another hair elastic.
Those instructions are probably non-sensical, but i bet if you google 'sock bun' there will be some handy video!

    1. Emily did a sock bun many years ago but neglected to match her hair color...she used a striped colorful one.

  19. Hello!

Gosh, the dress looks wonderful on you. Elegant and stylish and just the right touch of glamour in the jewellery. And, with the side split to reveal a leg, the varnish to vamp up the nails and the hot pink lipstick to pucker up the pout.........you will knock all the others dead!

Will we be treated to photographs of the event? We do hope so.

We have just found you and shall return!
