Out From Under My Rock

I am out from under my rock and I have aged a few years....

Where I have been:

I do miss my personal dumpster.

This is what we have accomplished:

It's getting there.

Laundry:

Everything looks yellow but it's not.  And hey,  finally did the animal print thing!

We switched to all LED lighting and love it.  Now finding dimmers for certain locations, was a bitch. They either flickered or hummed.  All construction workers can not see or hear.  I think we went through five different dimmers until I was finally happy.

Not sure who the kid on the trike is.  I am getting a large print made as we speak to replace the little snot.

Hunter made me drying racks.  Bring on the jealousy.

Mudroom:

I used SW Accessible Beige on the walls and SW sealskin on the doors.  So happy with both.
Again, looks yellow.

I am in the process of getting fabric swatches for the bench seat.

Also awaiting a mirror for above cabinet.

Half Bath:

A bit tough to photograph but hopefully you get the idea.  I used the same tile from my master bath remodel from earlier in the year.

Hunter has found the guest towel holder a perfect place for his reading glasses and pen.

Master Bath:

A bird wanted in badly.  See his imprint on the window?  No sign of him outside so I hope he survived.

I am now waiting patiently for window shades and furniture.  Okay, maybe not patiently, but waiting!

Really?

Oh come on!  We had a fifty fifty chance of getting it right.  Not to mention the big ass sticker.

Still fucked it up.

Really?

So, What Did You Do In August?

Well some one's having fun.  Wonder if she knows what a text book looks like?!

Activate's Paul Onions's photo.

Grace Huang's photo.

David Critchley's photo.

Emily Harrison's photo.

Miss Emily will be twenty in eighteen days.  I will also be celebrating a birthday in fourteen days.

I will not be twenty.

Would it be Terter or Hunresa

Where have I been.  I missed the memo.

When did they come up with the term Coatigan?  I thought it was simply a Sweater Coat.

Will sweater shirts be swirts?  Don't know about you, but that word closely resembles "shart".  Look it up, you'll know what I mean.  Hey, just be glad I didn't post pictures.

As you may be able to tell, I received a slew of catalogs yesterday.  So I spent some time in the bath, with wine in hand, contemplating what I must have for fall.

Who is going to sport these?  Anyone?

Pilcro Stet Flare Cropped Jeans

Oooh, look that up too if your not sure what I mean.

I have a birthday coming up.  49 not yet 50.  Is it time for Eileen Fisher?  I received my Garnet Hill catalog and saw it was all EF ships free.  Am I ready.  First page...

Eileen Fisher Clothing and Home at Garnet Hill. The Eileen Fisher Event at Garnet Hill. Free Shipping on Eileen Fisher Clothing and Home.

Why would you lead with that?    I shall not buy Eileen this year.

Anyway, back to the original topic...Brangelina...Bennifer...Kimye

For those who may not know, my name is Teresa and my husband's name is Hunter.  So, what would we be called? Terter?  Hunresa? Hunsa?  Those people?

I have way too much free time waiting for subs to show, watching them fall when they put the scaffolding through the floor vent, waiting for them to leave, and then starting all over the next day.  I still have the drywallers here.  They shall be joined by block masons (for our bridge...I know!) and best friends the framers (for my Solatubes).

I am getting a massage this afternoon!

The Awesomeness of August

So what exactly have I been doing this past month?

This:

I wish!

This:

Relaxing by the pool

Wrong again.

This:

GARDENING TOOL

Nope.

OMG!  It's them!  Sassy Sandy and Marvy Mike!  We did take time to celebrate Papa Mike's 74th birthday (suck it in Dad).  Doesn't my mom make the perfect trophy wife :)

I have been doing this:

Kids watching the construction in mid-summer.

Because you have to stay on top of them.

Decisions.

Decisions.

Decisions.

Exactly three weeks ago, we packed all our shit from downstairs in a POD.  The framers were our movers.  They are used to cramming stuff in a pick up...a POD was no different.  They will, however need to unpack us.

And then we began...

Well, Look at Me Now

Well, Emily is off in Australia now.

We had a bit of fun before she left.  Or...she had a bit of fun with me and the iPad.

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
Those are pictures of me laughing!

Miss Em had a grand time.

Some one had to see what the hell was so funny.

Guess who that block head is?

Well Hello There...

Guess what's coming soon?!

MAGIC MIKE XXL Poster

Sassy Sandy (my mom), Miss Em, and I all went to see the original back when.

Now they have gone and Super Sized it!!!!

Something besides this weather to get my temperature up.

Other news, last Monday we had a male black Cocker Spaniel in our garage (we called him Georgie).  He looked pretty good to me but had no collar and seemed to want to stay with us.  Poor Maggie chased him all over the yard until they were both exhausted and limping.  Minnie could not be bothered by something as lowly as another dog.  And to throw more stress his way, Sunny (neighbors dog) came to visit and check him out.  He was infested with fleas, had an ear infection, and was very matted in his ears, and he was not neutered.  We put up signs.  No one called.  Took him to the vet for a full check up because he had lost hair around his eyes...wanted to make sure it wasn't contagious.  Picked him up in the afternoon.  The receptionist, who had just started her shift, wanted to make him hers (she named him Baxter).  Yay!  He shall now have a loving home and poor Minnie will not have to put up with him.

Best I could get of him

Hunter's shoulder surgery went well.  Was at the hospital (he's hard to incubate) for 10 hours for a 45 minute surgery.  Geez.  He will be in his sling for about three more weeks and then start therapy.  He has very good movement already.  Didn't have the heart to take a picture of him.  He was quite an ass the first week.  Something about pain...whatever.  I managed to get through it though.

Just a hot, boring summer for us.  Just the way I like it.
