Yellowstone Summer Vacation

Yellowstone Summer Vacation

Yellowstone Summer Vacation by htharri

We are going on another family vacation.  The calendar has been brought out and everyone is available for exactly one week this summer...even Hunter.  He does not want to be left out.  We shall go to Jackson Hole for a few days.  Swim, raft, ride horses, go to a rodeo (we may even get a behind the scenes tour...COWBOYS!), Teton National Park.

We will then head out to Yellowstone National Park for a few days of glamping (hmmm).

I have my tickets set, reservations made, and clothing picked out.  Now I just have to wait a couple of months.  I do hope the crowds are not too maddening...

Crowd to watch Old Faithful

  1. Jealous! I looooove Yellowstone so much. Did you know I nearly missed the yellowstone falls though? old faithful was ok but it was actually the dullest thing I saw there so it was odd that it gets the most press. I saw the rodeo in Cody which is about an hour and half away and it was a highlight. I dont have many rodeos to compare it to but apparently it is one of the best ones.

    1. I have never been and truthfully the crowds intimidate me a bit. I know it will be beautiful and always memory making :)

    1. I have wanted to take the kids, and myself, but have put it off for so long. I do hear the belly bag is coming back in style.

    1. I do try to be the man with a plan. I always though I would go early winter/late fall, after all the families had gone back to school. Nope...we are going at the height of it all.

    1. I will need to pack all season wear for this trip...days 75F, nights 40F. Hope the weather gets better. You do not want the winter we had.

  6. As the kids get older, it gets harder and harder to coordinate family vacations. Your trip sounds awesome. And packed already - that amazes me. I accept that I will always be packing up until the moment of departure. Your way seems to be much less stressful. So has Em gotten you back in shape yet?

    1. Save me please. Em saw Jennifer's comment about a whistle and is now threatening to get one. We are set to run the 5K on July 18th. Yellowstone was on Tyler's list and I am more than happy to accommodate.
