Would it be Terter or Hunresa

Where have I been.  I missed the memo.

When did they come up with the term Coatigan?  I thought it was simply a Sweater Coat.

Will sweater shirts be swirts?  Don't know about you, but that word closely resembles "shart".  Look it up, you'll know what I mean.  Hey, just be glad I didn't post pictures.

As you may be able to tell, I received a slew of catalogs yesterday.  So I spent some time in the bath, with wine in hand, contemplating what I must have for fall.

Who is going to sport these?  Anyone?

Pilcro Stet Flare Cropped Jeans

Oooh, look that up too if your not sure what I mean.

I have a birthday coming up.  49 not yet 50.  Is it time for Eileen Fisher?  I received my Garnet Hill catalog and saw it was all EF ships free.  Am I ready.  First page...

Eileen Fisher Clothing and Home at Garnet Hill. The Eileen Fisher Event at Garnet Hill. Free Shipping on Eileen Fisher Clothing and Home.

Why would you lead with that?    I shall not buy Eileen this year.

Anyway, back to the original topic...Brangelina...Bennifer...Kimye

For those who may not know, my name is Teresa and my husband's name is Hunter.  So, what would we be called? Terter?  Hunresa? Hunsa?  Those people?

I have way too much free time waiting for subs to show, watching them fall when they put the scaffolding through the floor vent, waiting for them to leave, and then starting all over the next day.  I still have the drywallers here.  They shall be joined by block masons (for our bridge...I know!) and best friends the framers (for my Solatubes).

I am getting a massage this afternoon!

  1. I'm older than you, and still feel as if I'm too young to be buying Eileen Fisher! (I'll probably feel that way in 30 years, too....) Those jeans are really unattractive - I can't see them working for anyone!

Hang in there with the contractors. Before you know, it will be finished and you'll be delighted! I had quite a struggle with a roofing contractor last summer and although I was finally pleased with the results, it wasn't after a whole lot of me nit-picking the details that they should have caught themselves. (I was up on all the roofs, up in the attic several times, and the workers couldn't believe "the lady of the house" was that obsessed with the workmanship.) So glad that is over. It's a 50 year roof, so hopefully I won't need to deal with it again.

    1. The jeans seem to be really the "thing" this season. We did our bathroom this past winter and I love it. I keep telling myself it will be worth it...it'll be worth it.

  2. I think you should be booking lots of massage!
We crapped out on our renovation by the time we hit end of March so now that I'm rested and I've had my family come and go I'm back at it this week to finish some things, the crew in the house again, the trucks in the driveway. It's minor though compared to your stage.
I would look so hideous in those jeans, coatigan is taking it Too Far, and I'm never wearing that EF pants outfit. Why would they lead with that is a very good question.
And I like Hunresa, it sounds bad ass. XO

    1. My massage was GREAT. I think I'll need another on Monday:). We'll have the kids home for Christmas. After they leave, the plan is to move all the shit upstairs into the POD and "simply" paint and recarpet. Easy Peasy.

  3. Gosh you make me laugh. Those pants: ghastly, all of them. I think catalogue designers get bored and just try to mess with us from time to time. Only rational explanation...

    1. Gotta keep it fresh to keep us spending I guess. Can't say I am motivated to purchase anything I saw...except this beautiful dress for $300 that I can wear to my next "event". Oh, wait a minute, it was too short. Damn it!

  4. Well shit! I'm 59 and have plenty of EF. Most of it classic and not dumb looking. That outfit looks like hell! Happy Birthday Doll.

    1. They actually had some cute stuff but I just could not get over the leading page. The model even looked horrible. I do keep wondering if I am of age yet to shop certain stores. Mi have come to the conclusion I am passed a certain age for some stores I shopped oh so lovingly. Talking about Anthropologie. They've left me behind for the most part. I now shop for homewards instead of clothes on their website. Sigh.

  5. I'm with Jennifer - I have some wonderful EF pieces, but the shapeless stuff can stay in the catalogue! :-). I kind of think the cropped flares are cute; hmmm...

    1. Those pants are fugly! Don't do it Wendy! I'd wear hot pants over those and feel I looked better. But hey, if you get some post a picture.

  6. The coatigan is something you should wear with your skort ( skirt/short ) and your sanboots ( those boots that are cut out and for summer.) Enjoy your massage!!

  8. Your names are already a combo!!! So cute, Hun-Ter.

I think at this point we only adopt fashion that makes sense for us, and therefore, becomes style. Virtually none of it seems a good idea. I only have some close to the body EF, like the slim black knit pants, my fave for travel. None of the asymmetric stuff works on those of us with a lot of hair and legs-- too too dramatic.

    1. Maybe that's it. Too dramatic. I am sure individual pieces could be incorporated but the total look just throws me everytime I see it. But then again, I am still looking for the perfect housecoat...

    2. You do NOT need a housecoat.
      No one needs a housecoat.
      Stop looking.

    3. Fred, I remember in my twenties ( yes, I was in my twenties at one time ) and lived next to a wonderful older couple. She wore her house coat day and night. When will I get to be able to wear a house coat, damn it!
