The Tale of Two Scarves and a J Crew Review

Well I have had a crappy couple of weeks.  Got robbed, had car repairs, and had to replace my work computers because I lost the mother board on mine and the two were networked and they were over eight years with no updated operating system...had to be done.  Because I haven't had a computer at work, I basically have been off for 10 days with plenty of time to troll the internet.  Basically e-bay.  Somehow, somewhere ( I am giving credit to DaniBP)  I have linked to Mai Tai Picture Book and have become quite enamored with these Hermes scarves...just not the price.  This is what I found...

THE ART OF HERMES SCARF KUGOR TREE NEW UNWORN - Hermès

The Art of Hermes Scarf Kugor Tree

There is still one available for $389 but I got mine for $175.  The seller just had three items to sell and wasn't trying to make a living off e-bay.

On me

Yes, I watched the tutorial on how to fold the basic bias fold.

Now I need one of those scarf ring thingies.  I asked about them at our local department store, Dillards, and they just stared blankly at me.  They have got to meet Mai Tai!

I also discovered Block Shop from Girls of a Certain Age.  Now I waited and waited until this beauty was no longer sold out.

My Style
On me...

Fine.  Here's my face.

I do like it but it is not as vivid as I thought it would be.  I do believe I'll be trolling for more Hermes next time.

Quick story...While the computer guy was installing my computers and downloading my info from my old hard drives, what else was I to do but clean/re organize my pantry.  Which then led me to my tupperwear.  Imagine my surprise when I pulled out a large container with an entire pork tenderloin inside rotting.  Hmmm.

Now on with J Crew.

The neck line is more of a u shape on me.  The sleeves are 3/4.  Usually in tees, I take a medium (36D - 38") but somewhere, somewhere I read to go up a size.  Glad I did.  Fits wonderfully.  Is not shear at all.  If they would only carry it in a rich chocolate brown I would buy another.

Do ya see my flip and fold?  Again, the neck line is just different on me.  This works for me.  The long sleeve ones do not.

And finally...

Loving the shorts.   Those are from Dick's Sporting Goods.  Do not google Dick's without adding Sporting Goods.  Everyone in my family has made that mistake.  Back to the shirt...I really liked this but the fit of the medium was just too tight under my pits.  Everything else was perfect except it is stiff and some could find the texture irritating.

With a nude bra you really do not notice the peekaboos.

Maybe just a little.  Girls say "Hey".

Has hook and eye closure at the back.  I could not for the life of me get it closed when I had it on.  I could barely raise my arms tho.

Good God who's arm is that?  Sigh.  After the Squat Challenge
looks like I need to start an Arm Challenge.  Oh, wait a minute, that's the palm of my hand.  Phew!  Anyway, nice detail at sleeves.

And neck.

Regular old hem at bottom.

I returned at the store hoping they had a large.  They did.  Fit better at boobs but way too big in the body and it just didn't lay right at the neckline anymore.   If itty bitty store in Knoxville has these, yours should too.  I would definitely recommend this shirt but try it on first especially if you have big bosoms.

Have a great week end!

A Bit of Bling

Well, I have finally began purchasing a few items to replace my jewelry that was stolen.  I should get my money from the insurer by Friday, this after some prodding and a stern e-mail...fingers crossed.  Honestly, I have just not had the desire before and am sort of forcing myself.  Bit depressed.  When I get dressed I do think what I would have worn.  And then, to be honest, there is not the same level of joy because I am basically replacing my shit that got stolen.  Sigh.

First up:
2 Carat round diamond studs earrings SI H (GRA)
My hubs jewel guy...works for Jewelry TV and we built him a house...says that diamonds are at an all time high and we should wait a year or two.  But of course.  So he gave Hunter these 2 Carat fake diamond earrings for me.  Now I had .75 C before and these things are huge.  Emily got a pair too.  You can not tell they are fake but they are just too big for everyday wear.  Nice try baby.

Cheap Citizen Women\'s EW1534-57D Eco-Drive Riva Two-Tone Watch Cheap Price Today

Citizen Eco Drive Reva Two Tone

I needed a watch desperately.  I am a watch person.  I only wanted one now, so it needed to fit multiple uses and styles.  Can wear gold or silver, everyday, and dressy.  I received a Citizen Eco Drive Chrono watch for Christmas last year and loved the fact you do not have to wind and there is no battery.  Charged by light.   Very happy with this choice.

In my perusing I discovered Stella and Dot.  Never heard of them but I get the feeling I have just been living in the back country.

The chain is lovely and the pendant is quite weighty.  It does look like it cost $70.

I got Emily Sterling Silver Arrow Necklace.  It's perfect.

On the Mark

Now when the bastards took my stuff, they neglected to take my husbands wedding ring and a gold ring he purchased when we were in college.  It was a pinky ring and boy did I have small fingers back then and younger looking hands.

Well,  I purchased a gold chain and the Grow Charm in silver.

Put them together and voila'.  Honestly, I wish I had gotten the silver chain and will probably replace this some day.

My daughter, through Jewelmint got me these bangles.  I can not find them anymore.  They look very expensive and have magnetic closures.

And lastly...

It is lovely.

I thought I would show what is left of any and all J Crew jewelry just for shits and giggles...

That's it!

So Easily Entertained

Summer is finally here and to honest, I have been missing it.  We have had a wet, wet year...starting in November 2012.  But, the hot weather and lots of sunshine have finally arrived.  Yeah!  It's time for dips in the pool, fireflies, lemonade and also ticks, sunburns, ponytails cuz your hair always looks bad.  Sorry, just can't bitch about the weather.  Used to it I guess.

Look what I discovered...

Above is my self folded tee shirts.  Not bad.
Below is my new favorite friend..Flip and Fold!  Geez, I need to fluff my bed.

Place the shirt on it upside down.

Flip

Put back.  Very important step.  And yes I forgot this step a few times.

Flip again

Almost to the money shot.

Fold

Look ma, noo hands!

What the stack now looks like

Quiz time..which shelf met Flip and Fold?

Good job (the one in the middle)

I can feel myself getting giddy just seeing the pictures.  I have flip and folded my entire closet and even did my husbands tees.  I think he was jealous he didn't get to do them because he acted like he really didn't care.  I am so easily entertained.  I got mine at The Container Store for around $20.  I know, three pieces of plastic brings such joy for $20.  If you are interested go here for all kinds of info.  They are sold in a variety of places.  Remember, you too can have fun!

Now, lovely pictures of the garden..

Butterfly Bushes above and below.  The flowers are in abundance but are not showing up very well in the picture.  I even have a butterfly house.

Have just a few gardenias on the bush.  It was spectacular in May.

This bed is meant to be dry so the plants seem to be struggling a bit.

My poor Clematis got beat to hell from all the rain.  Has this one beautiful bloom.  Hopefully more will come.

My very beautiful Weeping Willow and her friends

Not to be out down...Crepe Myrtles are the stars right about now.  Yep, come visit and you too can jump on the trampoline.

Peanut is waiting for you.
